Chloe Grace Moretz is beloved in Hollywood for being a beautiful, opinionated woman who takes on various challenging roles. After the "Kick Ass" star dropped out of the live-action "Little Mermaid" film, many wondered what the public will see next from the talented 19-year-old.
Various news sources have reported that Moretz will join Sasha Lane of "American Honey" fame in a film adaptation of "The Miseducation of Cameron Post". The upcoming film is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed young-adult coming-of-age novel by Emily Danforth.
This role can be seen as Moretz' serious attempt to rediscover herself through the roles she picks. According to A.V. Club, this role follows her involvement in the Suspiria remake after pulling the plug on all of her upcoming projects.
Moretz explains her decision to E! News:
"It's not particularly time off," said Moretz, who next stars in Brain on Fire. "I'm just becoming more picky and particular about what roles I'm choosing. I think as an actor you have a huge opportunity to find yourself through the roles that you choose. I think it's my time, right now in my life, to figure out who I am and what I am and what I want and what this industry means."
"Miseducation of Cameron Post" is set in 1993 and tackles the issue of conversion therapy and how it affects the LGBT community. The film will help Moretz voice her support for gay rights more artfully. The film is set for a 2017 release.
