Sony is gearing up for the upcoming GamesCom 2013 with more new details and information waiting to be revealed at the event. Sony’s participation in the event is a big boost for fans all around the world, and Sony’s latest confirmation on this respect should come as massive news for everyone.
According to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Tony Clark on his official Twitter page, Sony has a lot of plans for the upcoming GamesCom with the company already prepared to showcase a bit more about the future.
“Gamescom. Coming soon. So many cool things to tell the world,” Clark recently tweeted.
“Many cool things to tell the world” may seem like a vague thing to say at this point, but as far as expectations are concerned, it does open the door for a lot of possibilities. It could be said that Sony will use this event to showcase some more exclusive titles for its upcoming PlayStation console, maybe offer a more precise release date for the PlayStation 4, etc.
Moreover, while compiling the Tweet, Clark has also used hashtags for PS4 and the handheld PS Vita, and so we definitely expect at least some kind of information from that sector.
Sony's confirmation for the upcoming GamesCom came after it was reported earlier this week that Sony has already set its focus on GamesCom, alongside the fast approaching San Diego Comic-Con. It was revealed that Sony would be present at the Comic-Con with its new PS4 and fans will have a chance to go hands-on with the console, alongside the previous-generation PS3 and hand-held PS Vita.
GamesCom is currently scheduled to take place in Cologne, Germany from Aug. 21 to 25, and is definitely the biggest stage for Sony as far as a European market is concerned. The official page for the event also states: "New generation of consoles, more intensive gaming experiences, cross-platform (PlayStation 4, Wii U und Xbox One playable for consumers at gamescom)."
Previously, at this year's E3, Sony confirmed that the PS4's release date is set for the holiday season, likely around November, and will retail for $399.
