The sequel of "Kingsman: The Secret Service" will be titled "Kingsman: The Golden Circle." The next installment of the highly rated action-comedy movie has been previously scheduled on summer of 2017; however this date has been moved to Oct 6, 2017.
It is a different display as the "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will now be squaring off directly with "Blade Runner: 2049," but it will be playing up the action-comedy angle of the "Kingsman" follow-up in contrast to Denis Villeneuve's sure-to-be serious tone for the "Blade Runner" sequel. Still, it's one tough choice the audience has to make, and one wonders if "Blade Runner" might shift a bit in the wake of this news, Collider reported.
"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is not just something in the upcoming year, as director Matthew Vaughn returns with an all-star cast that includes returning members Colin Firth and Taron Egerton. What makes it more exciting is the roster of newcomers Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum and Elton John.
"Kingsman: The Secret Service" opened in February 2015 and grossed $414M worldwide, which is incredibly solid for an R-rated action-comedy movie. It will be very interesting to see if the sequel can find similar success in the first installment. Before scheduling the second installment of "Kingsman" the October 6, 2017 release was actually scheduled for an untitled Fox/Marvel film, which many believed was pegged for "Gambit." The new cast Channing Tatum was supposedly cast for an "X-Men" spinoff but due to circumstances regarding the directors and the scripts, October 2017 was given to "Kingsman: The Golden Circle."
According to Cinema Blend, Matthew Vaughn's hyper-violent R-rated comic book adaptation, "Kingsman: The Secret Service," was an unexpected hit when it was released last year. Sure, it looked like fun, but it was way more exciting, violent, and entertaining than most anticipated, and it became a significant hit. Because of its success, the viewers would normally demand for a sequel, but according to star Taron Egerton, "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will make some changes regarding its focus on the action scenes. Will they surpass the previous hits? Share your thoughts below.
