Xbox One games will soon reap the benefits of the Oculus Rift VR headsets. Microsoft recently revealed the announcement that Oculus Rift owners would be able to stream the games directly on their VR headsets. The feature is slated to arrive via a free update on the Oculus Rift PC app.
Oculus Rift owners are expected to receive the free Xbox One streaming update on Dec. 12, 2016. It should be noted that the feature would not be making Xbox one games with VR support. However, the feature would enable players to play Xbox One players to play games in front of a virtual display inside the Oculus Rift VR headset.
This is said to be analogous to the way that Netflix works. Note that an Xbox One and Xbox One games are still required as well as an Oculus Rift headset that must be connected to a Windows 10 PC, ArsTechnica reported. The minimum network requirements are yet to be revealed.
However, note that Xbox One streaming may be experienced better over Ethernet than Wi-Fi. Additionally, users may opt to view a virtual screen in three different environments--Retreat, Dome and Citadel. Note that Microsoft is also working on developing VR headsets with HP, Asus and Dell under £250/$300.
Meanwhile, Xbox One Black Friday deals have already been withdrawn in several online retail stores. However, Microsoft is still continuing the weekend sale on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift VR headsets, Phone Arena reported. Furthermore, a $100 Microsoft Store gift code may also be included via Vive taking the price down to $699.
Xbox One streaming is expected to be perfect with HTC Vive headsets that have reportedly sold 140,000 headsets. Shipping is expected to begin by Dec. 2, 2016. However, the deal will expire at 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 28. Oculus Rift purchasers may get the product with $100 Oculus Store credit for a $599 price tag. Watch the Xbox One Oculus Rift streaming here:
