Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Latest News & Update: Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Safest, iPhone 7 Hazardous? - Report

Research discloses that Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is the safest smartphone today. Iphone 7, however, almost did not make it to the qualifications. With Samsung's recent battery fiasco, consumers nowadays do not only want a smartphone with top-of-the-edge-technology; safety has been a vital consideration in their decision-making process.

Every phone in the US is monitored and regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). All phones in the market meet the safety standards of the FCC. The FCC set a standard of maximum allowable electronic emissions SAR or Specific Absorption Rate of 1.6w/kg to ensure that smartphones is not hazardous to consumers. This connotes that the lower SAR the safer the phone, and the higher the SAR the less safe the phone.

International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has categorized some cellphones as possibly carcinogenic to humans. So although no research results openly associate cell phone use to cancer, radiation produced by electronic devices such as the cellphone is still an issue. If a consumer would like to limit the exposure to harmful emitted radiation, Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is a top pick.

Here are some of the phones with the lowest SAR and are, thus, deemed as safest to use. These phones have undergone the FCC Test for the SAR. PhonAdroid, an IT News Media in France compiled these results from FCC.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge sits at the top, only emitting 0.264 W/kg SAR based on FCC test. There are also other Samsung models that made it to the top ten list, such as Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 at number three, Samsung Galaxy S7 on the 6th spot and Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 on the 10th spot.

The iPhone 7, however, fares ominously poor against the Galaxy S7 Edge. According to the research, the Apple iPhone 7 emits 1.38 w/kg SAR. The result is five times more than the electromagnetic emissions of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Three iPhone units make it arguably the least safe smartphones. The Apple iPhone 7 on the third least safe spot, the iPhone 7 Plus at fourth, and the Apple iPhone SE ties with the Sony Xperia X at ninth and 10th place.
