Here’s some good news for all Street Fighter fans out there. Capcom, at the recent EVO 2013, revealed that the company will be bringing out a brand new version of Street Fighter 4 in early 2014, called Ultra Street Fighter 4.
Ultra Street Fighter 4 is set to feature a host of new content apart from offering the original Street Fighter game and Super Street Fighter 4, including new characters and stages. Moreover, fans will be able to upgrade their current version of the game for $14.99 to access the new content, while new users will have to pay $39.99 for the full game.
The developer announced that the game will be available on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The new characters include three who made their game debut in the beat 'em up Final Fight: Poison, Hugo, and Rolento. Fan favorite from Street Fighter III Elena also returns, and a certain mystery character never seen before in a Street Fighter game. Moreover, there are six new stages, re-balanced fighters for the game's current roster, and past DLC outfits are also set to be included.
“I’m personally excited to be able to use Rolento in SF4. Yes, he was in SFxT, but SF4 and SFxT play very differently, so it’ll be a treat to use him against Seth, Hakan, and others that are not in SFxT. As for the mysterious 5th character, you’ll just have to sit tight until more information is released,” the official page states. “To properly balance the character, we had to think of what the “personality” of the character was, and in effect, how to play to those strengths. It was rather daunting, but I definitely feel the characters are headed in the right direction.”
The page also states that with along with new characters, battle balance, and a slew of other features that will be revealed in the near future, “I’m sure the question of price has been on your mind. To that extent, there are two options of ownership, the digital upgrade path and the stand alone disc.”
