The fourth instalment of the show will end with the mythical "final four words," as showrunner Sherman Palladino promised. Bridesmaid star Melissa McCarthy's Sookie St. James is also set to return in the series.
Despite Melissa McCarthy's latest announcement that she was not asked to join the series, co-creator Graham has confirmed her comeback to the series. Times Of Malta noted that McCarthy will continue playing the role as Sookie St James.
McCarthy was a dear friend of mine, says Graham and plays an important role as Lorelai's bestfriend. Palladino confirmed that on the next comeback of the series, it will also feature a surprise announcement of Rory's pregnancy.

That was the way they always wanted "Gilmore Girls," to be, he added that it was like fate, 9News wrote. Alexis Bledel was asked in an interview if she was still interested to continue her role as Rory on her new life being a mother, she answered that it all depends on the story.
Favorite story from my #GilmoreGirls reporting? How @alexisbledel & @jarpad fit in Rory's bed (Yeah, she fell off.) https://t.co/4h3tzy67pn pic.twitter.com/3B3j7TiGSx — Samantha Highfill (@samhighfill) November 21, 2016
After almost a decade Lorelai will be reunited with daughter Rory. The mother daughter-relationship will face more mature roles in "Gilmore Girls" A Year in the Life, as Rory will experience motherhood.
Bledel felt it was a different story and she didn't want to exploit or do something more. However Bledel is already imagining her life being a mother, maybe she'll be doing her own style, but of course Lorelai would be a great influence to her in the forthcoming "Gilmore Girls" A Year in the Life.
