Chris Jericho has surprisingly become a big hit with the WWE fans as of late and the word out is that the veteran could be getting a title-reign soon. However, it is not the previous dish that most may have expected – that of which is the Universal title.
Rather, it could be the next best world title on WWE Raw– the United States title. With growing belief that Roman Reigns is reportedly getting another push towards the Universal title currently held by Kevin Owens, Y2J may eventually replace the “Big Dog”, Daily DDT suggested.
Recall that Chris Jericho was previously believed to be headed to a feud with Owens. But when the blame-game happened at the Nov. 21 edition of WWE Raw, Y2J blamed Roman Reigns for their team’s fall to WWE SmackDown.
Hence, a possible title clash could be held between Jericho and Reigns soon. With Owens around, there is a big possibility that Reigns will lose the title the dirty way. Just the same, that may not be important to Reigns right now since the Universal title is a better title to go after.
Should that script happen, it could give Reigns reason to go after Owens’ title. It could go down in one of the pay-per-views where the “Big Dog” becomes champion once more.
For Jericho, holding the U.S. title could be something and open doors to other title-clashes. If Owens loses, he could also make a go for it – assuming he does lose the Universal title.
The thing here is that the WWE doesn’t need to break up the tandem of Owens and Jericho. Instead, it could create a new roadmap for the Universal championship and place the US title on someone who is hearing cheers all around with his skit known as “The List of Jericho”.
