It seems like Rockstar is in the mood for pushing out critical details about the company’s upcoming open world action thriller Grand Theft Auto 5. And just when we thought that more details about the game will have to wait a while after the release of the new gameplay video (more on that later), the company is already shedding some light on the options available for customizing in-game vehicles.
Recently a new Grand Theft Auto 5-based Q&A session went up on GameInformer, where Rockstar fielded questions from fans related to gameplay features and the options available for fans to customize their vehicles.
The company stated that the car customization was brought back as a tribute to game that introduced Los Santos, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas title. GTA 5's customization has clearly evolved compared into a bigger scene with a host of customization options. Moreover, the car customization option has been offered such an impetus that several in-game missions require the player’s vehicle to be customized in a specific way to carry it out.
When asked about the necessity to bring vehicles customization in GTA 5, Rockstar stated: “Definitely, but rather than it simply being an additional option for players to experiment with, we wanted to expand it and integrate it more deeply into the game so that it would seamlessly slot in with everything else that the player can do in the world. Some missions ask you to customize vehicles in certain ways, and we have taken vehicle customization in general a lot further than we did in San Andreas.”
However, there are no Pay’N'Sprays this time around in this game, and have been replaced by a number of car customization stores, where players can take their vehicles and get them customized. There are more than a 1000 customization options available for the player.
Now, heading over to the newly revealed GTA 5 gameplay video, here’s a list of things that we managed to note from it about what we might get to see when the final game arrives:
- GTA 5 will feature an online mode (the number of supported players is yet to be confirmed).
- In-game character switching expected to be smoother than ever.
- We are not really sure about this one but it seems like wind may play a significant role in altering the projectiles of the bullets fired.
- Players can carry multiple weapons of the same type.
- Characters can be switched any time in the game via a mini map, which also highlights the kinds of stuff the characters are doing when the player is not involved.
- Players will now have the option to engage themselves in several extra curriculum activities (apart from missions) such as hunting, flying planes, investing in risky investments, dirt biking, scuba diving, and a lot more.
