The newest take on L. Frank Baum's renowned book series "The Wizard Of Oz" adopts a dark and sexy makeover. Dorothy Gale, played by Puerto Rican talent Adria Arjona, once again sets foot down the yellow brick road to see the Wizard -- and she does. NBC's first feature trailer for the new Oz is darker and sexier than ever; a diversion from its traditional adaptation as a children's story.

Dorothy blinks her eyes and finds herself snatched in a tornado once again after wishing there was more. Her cute tiny Toto, however, appears to have grown up a little is now in the form of a trained K-9 police dog. On their voyage down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City to find the Wizard, played by "Daredevil" Vincent D'Onofrio, the two are swept into a mystical world, described 411 Mania.
As Dorothy battles evil witches, she finds a rather hunky and topless Scarecrow, portrayed by "The Great Fire's" Oliver-Jackson Cohen. Together, they pass through hostile realms, lethal warriors, dark magic and a bloody combat for power,-- all in a world of science and magic.

"Mirror Mirror's" brilliant Tarsem Singh directed all 10 episodes of the first season, which debuts January 6 at 9 p.m. on NBC. "Emerald City" is produced by Matthew Arnold, who wrote the pilot script and then received a 10 episode direct-to-series order on NBC, writes the Irish Film & Television Network.
"Emerald City" is Oz totally reimagined -- a realm where familiar characters show up in fresh, unforeseen ways -- and where an innocent young woman holds the destiny of kingdoms in her hands.
