Some of the useful, somewhat hidden stuff in "Pokemon Sun & Moon" are purely cosmetic and basic. For example, you can tap between Rotom's eyes to instantly open the Pokedex; also, the menu buttons in the game to rearrange them according to your preference. There are also different trainer animations according to the friendship level of the Pokemon they're sending out; according to GameRanx, the best way to increase happiness is to train with two different TMs.
The most useful interface tip in "Pokemon Sun & Moon," however, is the fact that you can now look up EV gains for your Pokemon. All you have to do is go to the Summary page of the Pokemon you want to check, and tap Y to see the Pokemon's EVs. If you want to make the most out of the very important EV stat, you're going to need to get the Power Items for your Pokemon. One more thing: SOS Pokemon, which are the Pokemon that appear when a wild Pokemon calls for help, yields a lot of EVs.
For the actual Pokemon, you're going to want to use the Island Scan to find out which rare Pokemon you can catch in any given day in "Pokemon Sun & Moon." Island Scan can be gotten by scanning 10 QR Codes in order to get 100 QR Points and find out all known catch locations in the wild for each Pokemon.
