Avid fans of the anime "Tokyo Ghoul" have been looking forward to its return to the small screens with Season 3. Despite production delays, viewers are expecting to discover Kaneki's fate and to witness bloodier scenes given the involvement of the animation studio MadHouse.
"Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 may get a confirmed premiere date in 2017, however, latest spoiler news hinted of various elements that contributed to its delayed release. Originally scheduled for a 2016 launch, Season 3 was pushed back to next year.
Previous reports have indicated several issues that affected its production. "Tokyo Ghoul" is said to be lacking in material to cover the expected 12 episodes of Season 3. Creator Sui Ishida may have released several issues of the anime's manga version, however, it is not sufficient to support a full season on TV.
Other delay speculations also pointed to "Tokyo Ghoul" the anime having been handed over to the animation studio MadHouse. Originally under Studio Pierrot, the handover including MadHouse's plans for the series may have contributed to its delay.
However, many fans are also hoping to see bloodier and gorier scenes in "Tokyo Ghoul" Season given MadHouse's previous projects. Known for the hit anime series "One Punch Man," as well as "Death Note," the said animation studio has the technical and creative background to depict the violent scenes in Ishida's manga.
Meanwhile, storyline details for the upcoming new season of "Tokyo Ghoul" has yet to be disclosed but plot speculations pointed to the potential introduction of the ghoul inspector Haise Sasaki. Others may think that Haise is a new character, however, the inspector is said to be Kaneki. Having lost his memories given the injuries that he suffered from Arima Kishou's attack in Season 2, Kaneki will be given a new lease on life as a ghoul investigator.
In other news, "Tokyo Ghoul" the manga was among the top 3 graphic novels in BookScan's October chart, according to ICv2. The ninth volume of Ishida's manga nabbed the third spot on the said list.
