Call of Duty: Ghosts, the newest and upcoming Call of Duty title from Infinity Ward, is one of the several hot titles set to arrive later this year. And with information about the game tricking out almost every day, Ghosts is easily set to turn a few heads at the end of the year.
As expected, there’s more some more new information about Ghosts for fans to follow up on, and comes directly from Vice President of Production for the Call of Duty franchise Daniel Suarez. Suarez discussed about the innovations introduced in Call of Duty: Ghosts.
“First and foremost, innovation is what drives this game…as players ourselves, we’re always trying to say ‘what is the game we want to play – what are the things that we want to do?’ And I think we have these liberties with Call of Duty – especially this year now that we’re creating this sub-franchise with Ghosts – to be able to introduce our new set of characters,” Suarez stated.
Apart from this, there was some useful information revealed about Riley the in-game canine companion present to assist the Ghost team.
"We've announced Riley, he's the Call of Duty dog and there's been a lot of fanfare behind him on the Internet and Twitter and everything else," Suarez stated. "He creates a new gameplay dynamic where you can interact with the dog. He can kind of find out enemies that are hiding. He can alert you to dangers sort-of approaching."
Suarez added that Riley can also be controlled via a certain interface that was inspired by Navy SEAL dog trainers who were consulted on the game's development.
"They actually have these cool dog vests that they put on that actually have cameras on the back that allow you to see what's going on within the environment," he explained to News10. "So you are in control of the dog, but he's sort of acting on his own AI. It's a great sort of unique way to the diversity of the gameplay."
Apart from this, Suarez also stressed on the fact as to how the team is also trying to innovate the entire storytelling experience, and that Activision hired screenwriter Stephen Gaghan (of After Earth fame) to assist in crafting out the perfect storyline.
"Storytelling is going to be a big investment this time around and that interaction with the squad, the interaction you have with the other players in the squad is going to be a big part of the game," he stated.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is currently set for a Nov. 5 release.
