Although fans expected a full-movie debut, it will not be the case for "The Inhumans." Marvel already announced recently that instead of the big screen premier, it will be moving to the TV screens. Here's what we know so far of its developments.
Way back 2014, Marvel announced that "The Inhumans" is included in the 2018 line-up along with its bigger films such Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther, among others. It was originally scheduled to be released in November 2018. However, a recent announcement confirmed that "The Inhumans" will debut in the small screen instead.
The TV debut is not as disappointing as it sounds since Marvel collaborated with IMAX, DisneylABC Televisions Group and a unit of Marvel Entertainment to exclusively premiere Marvel's "The Inhumans" through ABC. Moreover, it will be filmed in IMAX digital cameras making it the first of its kind live action series to be shown in small screens.
The first two episodes of this collaboration, which are produced together with ABC Studios, will run exclusively worldwide for two weeks beginning September 2017. "The Inhumans" will then air weekly starting in fall with exclusive content which can only be seen on ABC.
Firstly introduced in 1965 in Marvel Comics, "The Inhumans" is a race of superhumans with unique and diverse powers. Since then, it grew and became one of the most iconic and popular characters in the Marvel Universe. It will tell the epic journey of Black Bolt and the Attilan Royal Family. Other core characters will also be present including Medusa, Karnak, and Lockjaw.
Other than the September release, no other details are known yet about "The Inhumans". No castings have even been made or how "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." could possibly influence the upcoming series. But with the top labels coming together in this first-of-its-kind production, audience can definitely expect a high quality and truly compelling entertainment. Marvel's "The Inhumans" is surely to watch out for this 2017.
