Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman got into a fight on the field after the Dallas Cowboys 31-26 win against the Washington Redskins on Thursday. Both Dez Bryant and Josh Norman had to be separated by teammates after the two of them got into each other's faces and jawing with one another.
Even when Dez Bryant and Josh Norman left the field, the two aren't done talking. Neither player wanted to back down when talking to reporters.
Dez Bryant fired the first shot on his way back to the locker room by saying, "Better tell Washington to get their money back." Dez Bryant was referencing to Josh Norman's five-year, $75 million deal with the Washington Redskins.
"I didn't make it personal," Dez Bryant said while talking to reporters. "He made it personal. I was just going to come out and do my job, and that's exactly what I did. He wanted to bump. I let him bump."
Apparently Dez Bryant and Josh Norman has a not so pleasant history together. Their beef towards one another goes way back into Thanksgiving last year.
It was a game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Carolina Panthers. Dez Bryant had a subpar game. While being guarded by Josh Norman, then playing for the Carolina Panthers, he was limited to only 2 catches for 26 yards. The Washington Redskins won that game 33-14.
After the game, Josh Norman said that the Dallas Cowboys should "get Dez's $70 million back" obviously a cheap shot to Dez Bryant's five-year, $70 million contract he signed with the Dallas Cowboys in the summer of 2015.
Now fast forward into Thursday's game. Dez Bryant wasn't even matched up with Josh Norman in the first half. The two were even pleasant towards each other. Dez Bryant and Josh Norman started going at it in the second half. The animosity between the players grew as the game wore on reaching its boiling point after the game.
Television replays show that Josh Norman threw a towel towards Dez Bryant and took a swing at him. Asked to comment as to what caused the scuffle when the was over, Josh Norman said that he was going to shake hands with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and apologize to Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick for an incident that happened in the game when Dez Bryant bumped him.
"And then this guy is bumping into me -- 'What's up?'" Josh Norman said, referring to Dez Bryant. "Where I'm from, we unload the clip."
Dez Bryant caught 5 passes for 78 yards in Thursday's game. But not all of his catches were against Josh Norman. Only 3 of those catches were with Josh Norman guarding him and Norman was quick to point that out.
