"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is already a big hype these days with advanced ticket sales on the cards starting this Monday onwards in the United States. The movie is scheduled for its opening on Dec.16, 2016. Fans are really happy with the announcement regarding the ticket sales.
The news is put forward by Disney's LucasFilm and that too on the night of the Thanksgiving. Online ticketed Fandango explained that it would launch sales at 12:01 a.m. EST on Monday while Atom Tickets revealed a promotion starting Monday for exclusive products available digitally through its mobile ticketing app and website.
"Rogue One" is the only stand-alone movie in the franchise and opens on the same weekend as "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" did the previous year. That film has made a U.S. box office record with $248 million in its initial weekend after it had racked up more than $100 million in advance sales, then set a worldwide gross of $2.07 billion. Initially this week, the advance ticket sales for "Rogue One", began in the United Kingdom, this came as a good surprise for the holiday season for "Star Wars" fans.
However, it has been said by the Disney chief Robert Iger that they are not expecting the film to do a business as great as "Star Wars - Force Awakens" did. This is just because of the fact that the film is somewhat different from the main narrative of the previously made films in the franchise. The star-cast of the film includes Felicity Jones, alongside Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker.
The film is directed by Gareth Edwards who helmed the 2014 "Godzilla" reboot. The Atom Tickets promotional items also include a hoodie, t-shirt, girl's shirt and a limited-edition ticket placard.
