Just earlier this month, Apple released its updated version of iOS 10.1.1 to fix the bug denying access to Apple's Health Data application. However, the latest modification led to a more serious problem: the earpod malfunction and unintended iPhone's shutdown at 30% battery level.
According to Forbes, it has already been three weeks since the release of the latest update of iOS 10.1.1 and a lot of users have raised their encountered concerns via the Apple's official Support Community forums. The majority of the issues reported concerns mainly on the battery and earpods.
Based on the reported complaint of Mjolcresure via the official Apple forum, the updated iOS 10.1.1 was installed on the iPhone 5 and experienced battery issues. The battery level jumps from 30% battery level to 1% just after a few seconds then immediately shutdown. However, upon its connection to a charger, battery level will display at 30% as if nothing happens. The user also added, "Shutting the phone down at night with a good 80% charge, it won't reboot in the morning due to no battery charge. I plug it in and its back to 30% in a few seconds."

Another user also raised the same issue, this time in the unit of iPhone 6S, "I'm having the identical issue after upgrading yesterday to 10.1.1...battery suddenly dies at 30%...I have no idea why...I even did a full wipe and it's still doing it...I'm using a 6S and my phone is only like 6 months old and was working perfectly before the upgrade."
Moreover, aside from the "30% battery bug", another concern raised was the earpod's malfunction during phone calls. In the post of a user named Veranoso, "No audio until I restart or if in a call after pressing the speaker button." The user even raised the issue to an Apple Store and they were not able to help. Restarting the device may temporarily resolve the concern but it will come again.
To date, Apple is currently testing the iOS 10.2 and has already released three beta versions to their registered developers.
