CW has been adding more DC superhero shows to their plate. It started with "Arrow" in 2012 and "The Flash" in 2014. Then, it was followed with "Legends of Tomorrow." This year they acquired "Supergirl" from CBS. With all four shows on their network, it's about time they do another featured DC Crossover.
This time, the newest member of the CW/DC family, "Supergirl" will join in the fun. This will be the third time they will have a prominently featured DC Crossover.
CW network released a full video of the Superhero Fight Club 2.0, a follow up to a teaser of the DC Crossover last year. The video features Green Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, White Canary, Atom and Firestorm as they battle Cisco and Felicity's "Sphere Of Fear." Martian Manhunter and Diggle observe the commotion in the control room.
Gizmodo reported that the video gives us a preview of what to expect in the big DC Crossover. It shows each of the heroes' attitudes and their working dynamics.
In an interview with Indiewire, Greg Berlanti said mapping out the four-way DC Crossover was not simple. The combined scripts for all shows add up to 180 pages. The DC Crossover will kick-off on "Supergirl's" show followed by "The Flash," "Arrow," and finally ends with "Legends of Tomorrow."
Cheatsheet reported tha there is always one ultimate reason why heroes usually team up. In this case, the superheroes team up to defeat a vicious and powerful villain. CW network drew inspiration from a three-part 1989 comic series called "Invasion!" and they chose The Dominators to be the villains in the big DC Crossover.
In the comics, The Dominators are humanoid alien invaders hell bent on destroying planet Earth. They are masters of genetic manipulation. They came to Earth to study the metahumans and breed their own. They are the perfect villains for CW's DC Crossover.
Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Earth's resident good alien will help defend her new home planet from the bad aliens. Supergirl will team up with the other intergalactic experts from the heroes of "Legends of Tomorrow," Flash (Grant Justin) and Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) to defeat the Dominators in the DC Crossover.
Marc Guggenheim, executive producer of "Arrow," tells Deadline that they will use cutting-edge prosthetics and computer effects on the Dominators for a feature-film quality look in the DC Crossover.
Arrow's 100th episode will most likely air as part of the DC Crossover event. Stephen Amell, who plays Arrow, posted a teaser of the episode on Twitter and it looks like Deathstroke will be making an appearance in the DC Crossover.
Fans of "Glee" will recognize Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist. "The Flash" and "Supergirl" will have their own separate musical DC Crossover. Both Grant and Benoist showed great chemistry. Their own crossovers might happen after the mega four-way DC Crossover.
