For users of various Apple products, it's never too early to anticipate the next iteration of gadgets in the following year, especially now that 2016 is coming to a close. This year, Apple released the iPhone 7 and a slew of other products. Most noticeably, the headphone jack was removed from the famous smartphone, and additions to the MacBook were seen as well. But when will we see a new iteration of the Apple Watch 3? Some have already speculated that the wearable tech is getting a 2017 release date alongside iPhone 8.
According to Tech Radar, the upcoming Apple Watch 3 is slated to have a 2017 release date alongside iPhone 8. If the yearly fall release is any indication, the Apple Watch 3 will be announced sometime September, with a release date somewhere towards the holidays. The latest news surrounding the Apple Watch 3 is that it will feature micro-LED panels as a display. It will still have a 1.65-inch display that will feature micro-LED panels instead of the usual OLED screens.
Currently, the Apple Watch 2 that was released a couple of months ago features a second-generation OLED Retina display with Force Touch, as well as an Ambient light sensor that was present in its predecessor. The Apple Watch 3 that may have a 2017 release date alongside iPhone 8 may have either the same second-generation OLED Retina display, or utilize a micro-led panel with 3D touch.
Unlike the Apple Watch 3 that is slated to have a 2017 release date alongside iPhone 8, the iPhone SE that was released earlier this year doesn't seem to have an update anytime soon. According to BGR, Apple doesn't plan to update the latest "classic" looking iPhone which users are very specific. The iPhone SE was created for Apple users who love the standard size and look and feel of the classic iPhone. The company underestimated its success and sold much more units than they projected.
Now, users will have to wait to find out if the Apple Watch 3 will have a 2017 release date alongside iPhone 8. Keep checking back for the latest news on iPhone products and services. In the meantime, check out the TOMS Apple Watch bands now available.
