Michelle Yeoh would be playing the role of Han Bo, the Lieutenant Commander of the star ship Discovery, according to a reliable source. She would be known as "Number One" in the series "Star Trek: Discovery", though, CBS TV Studios hasn't released any official statement on this.
"Star Trek: Discovery" consulting producer Nicholas Meyer shared that Michelle Yeoh is joining the crew of the upcoming American television series. " I know Michelle Yeoh is in it" Meyer mentioned during his interview with Comingsoon. Michelle Yeoh has been in the industry for more than 30 years. She is known in the US for her role as Wai Lin, in the James Bond Movie, "Tomorrow Never Dies". She was also nominated in the BAFTA Award for Best Actress (2000) for the the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. She also starred as Lotus in the Film "Marco Polo" and as Yu Shu Lien in the 2016 movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny".
The story line of "Star Trek: Discovery" starts 10 years before the original "Star Trek " series happened. It tells the struggles and success of the USS Discovery as they explore the galaxy and discover other civilizations. The main character will be a young woman, most likely Michelle Yeoh, who will be the Lieutenant Commander.
Bryan Fuller, "Star Trek: Discovery" co-creator and producer, once highlighted the series' acceptance to multiracial diversity and said that "We're going deep into something that was for me always very tantalizing, and [we're telling] that story through a character who is on a journey that is going to teach her how to get along with others in the galaxy." Fans of Michelle Yeoh are all excited since the show is set to hit the airwaves on May 2017. All of the "Star Trek: Discovery" episodes will be shown by CBS All Access in the US, while it can be seen via Netflix in other countries.
