ARMA 3 beta release scheduled for June 25

ARMA 3, the upcoming open world tactical shooter title from Bohemia Interactive, finally has a scheduled release date. The developer has announced that the beta version of the game is complete and will be available starting June 25.

ARMA 3 has looked like a title that has major potential from the day of its inception and it is good news that Bohemia has moved out of the game’s Alpha stage while also declaring that the Alpha will be included in the beta via an automatic update on Steam.

Project Lead Joris-Jan van ‘t Land stated: “Having just showed off the Beta for Arma 3 at E3 2013, we are keen to get it into gamers' hands quickly. Bringing some heavy firepower and additional transport options will allow for more diverse scenarios in both singleplayer and multiplayer. We also can't wait to open up the Steam Workshop scenario publication, which will make content-sharing with other players much more convenient.”

ARMA 3 has been built upon the well-received ARMA 3 Alpha and features a varied selection of brand new in-game content including 10 vehicles, seven weapons, four showcase missions (support for Combined Arms, Commanding and Night), two multiplayer scenarios and four challenges.

The game is set against the breathtaking backdrop of Stratis with the Beta version turning its focus towards firepower and logistics. “The Challenges game mode will also be making its first appearance, enabling players to practice their weapons handling and movement across a selection of firing drills. Plus, all of the content from the Arma 3 Alpha will be available, alongside the popular scenario editor and modding support,” the official page states.

The latest project from Bohemia, of course, did run into a host of problems in its initial days with the developing team suspected for espionage. Back in September, last year, two Czechs nationals, David Zapletal and Pavel Guglava, were arrested on Lemnos with the two men claiming to be working for Bohemia Interactive officially. These guys were recording videos and taking photographs for the development of ARMA 3.

The team has also confirmed that price of the ARMA 3 Beta will more in comparison to the ARMA 3 Alpha. The regular ARMA 3 Beta will be available for 34.99 EUR/29.99 GBP/44.99 USD, while the ARMA 3 Digital Deluxe Edition will be retailed at 44.99 EUR/39.99 GBP/59.99 USD.
