It's been over a decade since movie goers visited Jurassic Park and a fourth film in the franchise will hit the silver screen summer of 2015.
Since the release of 2001's Jurassic Park 3, the fourth installment has been through development hell.
ComingSoon.net reports a poster for the film at the 2013 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas displayed a 2015 release date.
An exact release date or cast have yet to be confirmed but it's a clear indication that the wheels are beginning to be set in motion.
Not much is known about the project except that Steven Spielberg will be executively producing the film and Colin Trevorrow is stepping into the director's chair. Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver( Rise of the Planet of the Apes) will be writing the script. It's also been reported that the film will be shot in 3D.
According to reports, Jurassic Park 4 was due to have a rushed release in 2014 but Universal decided to give Trevorrow more time to prep shooting as the film is set for "some pretty impressive set pieces."
"In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal's beloved franchise," wrote Universal in a release. "We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise's storied history."
Rumors of potential plot details have run the gambit of being a new trilogy or flat out reboot of the franchise that first hit the theaters in 1993 and is based off the Michael Crichton novel.
A 3D remastered version of Jurassic Park hit theaters in April in commemoration of its 20 anniversary.
Other film poster reveals included Fast & Furious 7, Transformers 4, The Amazing Spider- Man 2, Ninja Turtles, Night at the Museum 3, 24: Live Another Day and more.
