With "Doctor Strange" already out in in the big screens, it's only natural that Marvel fans are starting to speculate what's next in "Doctor Strange 2." Mid-credit scenes of the movie reveal how the Sorcerer Supreme is connected with other Marvel superheroes as well as potential spoilers for "Thor: Ragnarok," which opens in November 2017.
As the film wraps, after the credits roll and the "Doctor Strange" movie logo displays, mid-credit scenes play to reveal hints for "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Doctor Strange 2." Strange is in full costume, including the Cloak of Levitation. As the lenses turn to reveal Thor (Chris Hemsworth) seated across from Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) at the Sanctum Sanctorum, where the latter comes to reside over. Strange asks,"Tea?" to which Thor responded, "I don't drink tea?" There's a fun visual crack where Thor drinks from a magically self-refilling stein of beer as Doctor Strange explicates that he now keeps a list of threats and Loki's name is on it. Strange asks why Thor would bring Loki to New York City. "It's complicated. Family drama," Thor quips, before uttering that they are looking for Odin.
As the cosmic custodian of Earth, Strange is wary. He is well aware of Loki. Seemingly, Thor and Loki are in cahoots once again. Doctor Strange now needs guarantees from Thor that once backed, the Asgardians will leave Earth and find their way back to Asgard. Thor agrees, and the pair set off to fulfill the mission. This reportedly sets up the story for "Thor: Ragnarok," as well as "Doctor Strange 2."
Comicbook reveals that this scene is presumably the bridge between "Doctor Strange" and the events we'll witness in "Thor: Ragnarok". Recent set photos from the movie's shooting in Australia publicly shared by the production revealed Thor and Loki together, wearing earthly clothes, holding a card with an important address on it: 177A Bleecker Street, the address of Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum. As for Strange, Cumberbatch has already stated he will appear in Avengers: Infinity Wars in 2018. "Doctor Strange 2" will reportedly follow.
