Microsoft Surface Book 2 has been rumored to be launched last Oct. 26. However, there was no mention about the next iteration of the laptop line during the recent company event. Instead, the release of the Surface Book i7 and the latest Windows 10 update became the highlight of that day.
The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is believed to come with a 4K resolution and a 4K video, including a 3D graphics playback capability. This hybrid laptop may also have a battery that can power up to 16 hours. As for the processor, the new device is expected to be more powerful with a new chipset, a likely improvement by 100 percent in terms of graphic performance, given its 14-nanometer technology that improves the chipset by 12 percent.
However, there are speculations that Microsoft Surface Book 2's release date may likely be moved, given the recent release of the Surface Book i7. Critics believe that the Redmonian tech company will not launch two similar products at the same time, considering that the Surface Book 2 is packaged as the high-end version of the hybrid Surface Book i7. Nevertheless, both laptop lines are expected to compete in the market, along with the 2016 Apple MacBook Pro.
That being said, Microsoft Surface Book 2 is now rumored to be released in 2018, given the high demand for the original and recently launched Surface Book i7. However, there are also speculations of a likely release early next next, alongside the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, according to reports.
Meanwhile, the Surface Book is reported to showcase Windows 10 and highlights a number of its best features, including touch. With the use of Microsoft's Cortana virtual assistant, the device can send and receive text messages from any Android mobile phone it will be paired-up.
