The most-awaited iPhone 8 is expected to launch next year with a bezel-free design. The Samsung Galaxy S8, on the other hand, is anticipated to have a Plus version with a bezel-less display and will lack a home button in the front.
Another smartphone that has piqued the interest of many is the Xiaomi MI Mix. The recently unveiled handset boasts a 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio and a 6.4-inch edge-to-edge display. Huawei and Meizu, on the other hand, are also working on bezel-free design to compete with some of the top smartphones of the future, which do not exclude the iPhone 8, according to report.
Moreover, the Mi Mix is powered by Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage. It also sports a 16MP rear camera and features Quick Charge 3.0 technology. The year 2017 will be the 10th year anniversary of iPhone. The tech giant is also expected to bring a new design of its highly anticipated iPhone 8.
Based on the report of analysts from Barclays Research, the new iPhone 8 will flaunt a curved, bezel-less design. Added to that, the borderless design of the iPhone 8 will also mean that it will have the same size as the current iPhone generation. Also, Apple will also likely to get rid of the Home button on the iPhone 8.
Meanwhile, Apple has been granted again a patent for a folding phone this month. It was then rumored that the upcoming iPhone 8 will be influenced by flip phones in 1990s, made by Motorola. The said patent was filed last Aug. 28 but was awarded to Apple on Nov. 2. Based on the report of Patently Apple, the tech giant was able to keep the patent a secret through the use of an engineer's name during the filing procedure.
