Battlefield 4 is set for an explosive into later this year when the game is finally out of the development (by the way, whatever glimpses you saw from the game until now is all beta) and is made official for fans all around the globe. However, it seems like we already have some more details about the game’s massively anticipated multiplayer mode, and this time it’s related to the in-game vehicles.
The game has already captured most of the minds that were present at this year’s E3 event and, needless to say, the game got more impetus adding to the already gained popularity via the famous “Fishing at Baku” gameplay trailer.
However, the new details, happily, are mostly about the kind of multiplayer and the features we will be seeing when Battlefield 4 arrives. And while we already know that the game, as revealed by EA, will offer support for 64 players alongside the new Siege in Shanghai map for Conquest mode, we were still waiting to find out more about the vehicles that will be at our disposal when we get into the mode.
The new details has arrived via BF4Central and it states that the vehicles can indeed be customized and this falls true for the likes of in-game tanks, helicopters, and even boats.
“Some of the customization options for the Battlefield 4 tanks include different shells for the main cannon, different machine guns, and other unlocks similar to those found in BF3, such as IR smoke, zoom optics. Furthermore, tanks can now be equipped with different paint / camo that can be unlocked,” the report states.
As far as unlocks for in-game helicopters for Battlefield 4 are concerned, the report states that it won’t be much different from what we have seen while spending time with Battlefield 3. These include zoom optics, autoloader, IR flares and heat seeking missiles.
Alongside, it has also been confirmed that the AH-1Z Viper returns in Battlefield 4. For those who are uncertain about AH-1Z Viper, it is also known as Super Cobra and will be the main attack helicopter used by the US forces in Battlefield 4 multiplayer.
The AH-1Z Viper, first introduced in early 2000s and entered service with the USMC in 2010, is quite effective against vehicles and infantry on the ground, and can be used in a variety of roles on the battlefield.
Getting back to the topic in hand, the report has also detailed about the sorts of changes that we might get to see in the boats in the game and what they will provide.
“Battlefield 4 will prominently feature boats this time, and they’ve got unlocks too. Boats can be equipped with different paint jobs just like tanks, and different primary and secondary weapons. Additionally, they have countermeasures such as IR smoke, and can even be equipped with anti-air missiles,” the report adds.
Battlefield 4 is set for release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on Oct. 29 in North America and Nov. 1 in Europe. The next generation versions of the game will come later.
