'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Premiere Date, Cast Update: Tom Hopper Plays Dickon Tarly

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 may have found a new actor to play Dickon Tarly. Recent reports suggest actor Tom Hopper will portray the character, following rumors that Freddie Stroma left the series.

Tom Hopper recently joined James Faulkner on the set of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 in Cáceres, Spain. A photo of the actors lounging on a park bench has spread online. This immediately led fans to speculate that Hopper now plays Dickon Tarly in the installment.

It is interesting to point out that among all the casts, Tom Hopper chose to hang out with Faulkner. The actor plays Dickon and Sam Tarly's father, Randyll Tarly, in "Game of Thrones" Season 7.

Speculations about Tom Hopper's possible role as Dickon Tarly came after Freddie Stroma's rumored exit. According to Watchers on the Wall, the British star could not commit to reprising his role in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, because of other work commitments. There are speculations that Stroma left because of filming conflicts with his other show, "Time After Time. " In the time-travel series, Stroma plays the lead character of H.G. Wells.

Likewise, there has been no siting so far of Freddie Stroma on any of the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 set. This only furthers the speculations that Tom Hopper has indeed been cast play Dickon Tarly.

If Tom Hopper does play Dickon Tarly in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, then he may only have minimal scenes. Previous spoilers claimed Dickon dies early in the season. He and Randyll Tarly dies in Episode 4. In this episode, Daenerys orders her dragons to attack the kingdoms that refused her request for a parlay.

Regardless, HBO has yet to confirm if Tom Hopper does indeed play Dickon Tarly in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Likewise, the actor has also to confirm his involvement in the show.
