Beloved characters of the AMC series "The Walking Dead" will soon face another threat aside from the Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The Whisperers may soon make an appearance in upcoming episodes, according to showrunner Scott Gimple.
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 gave fans a look at the various communities that flourished in the zombie apocalyptic world of the AMC series. With the introduction of the brutal Negan, as well as the community called the Kingdom, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his gang have had to make several adjustments to deal with the challenges.
Viewers can expect to see several other communities in the AMC series. "The Walking Dead" Season 7 episode 6 will introduce a new society, according to episode spoilers posted on Spoiler Guide. Titled "Swear," the said episode will also feature Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Heath's (Corey Hawkins) supply run where they may get to encounter members of the said new society.
Story speculations indicated that the said community may be the villainous group, the Whisperers. Known to wear zombie skin, the said group freely walks among zombies and believes that the said creatures should not be killed.
However, "The Walking Dead" showrunner recently clarified the speculated episode 6 appearance of the Whisperers. In an interview with Comic Book, Gimple mentioned that it would be too early in the Season 7 storyline to introduce the said group. He stated, "It's not the Whisperers."
Gimple also teased that while the episode will not unveil the existence of the Whisperers, viewers may learn about them in upcoming episodes. The showrunner shared, "It's not impossible that the Whisperers could come along or aspects of them could come along earlier than the timeline of the book."
Avid fans of the AMC show can also look forward to discovering a new society in the upcoming "The Walking Dead" Season 7 episode 6. Character speculations pointed to the new group as residents of a beach-side community called Oceanside. However, some comic book fans may disagree since the said group was introduced after Rick's war with Negan in Robert Kirkman's graphic novels.
