It should be hard to imagine a new villain that could top the performance of David Tennant as Kilgrave in "Jessica Jones" Season 1. But that chapter in Jessica's (Krysten Ritter) life is over and fans should look forward to a new villain that will wreak havoc for the protagonist. There have been a few theories as to who will cross paths with Jessica, but here are three reasons why Will Simpson or Nuke, played by Wil Traval in the first season, is strongly believed to make a comeback in "Jessica Jones" Season 2.
Diversion from Comics
Marvel Netflix shows are known to change some elements of the story in the comics, and "Jessica Jones" Season 2 is no exception. In the comics, Nuke is part of a military program that turns him into a super-soldier with the help of adrenaline pills. Towards the end of "Jessica Jones" Season 1, it was revealed that Will Simpson also took some pills to enhance his strength. Given that there have already been changes in the story (like Kilgrave's story and Trish's persona), it's also likely that Netflix will continue with a different Nuke arc.
Unfinished Business
It can be recalled that Will was initially mind-controlled by Kilgrave to kill Jessica's adoptive sister, Trish (Rachael Taylor). But Kilgrave's plan failed and once his power wears off, Will is back to his senses and eventually developed a sexual relationship with Trish. He also helped Jessica and Trish bring down Kilgrave, but got obsessed in doing so and lost his control along the way, endangering the lives of both women. Will then crossed over to the bad side and got violent with Trish and Jessica that they had to subdue him. But the character escaped and hasn't been heard from since. What can we expect in "Jessica Jones" Season 2?
Trish and Will
It was already confirmed by Melissa Rosenberg that "Jessica Jones" Season 2 will focus more on Trish and Jessica's relationship. Knowing that Will was once Trish's lover, it would affect their relationship in one way or another if he does make a comeback.
Will Nuke really resurface in "Jessica Jones" Season 2 and become the big bad? Fans can just wait for the premiere date of the series, which is expected to be sometime in 2018, to find out.
