PlayStation 4 will support used games, retail for $399

Gloves off! Sony has officially thrown down the gauntlet and has challenged Microsoft by spending quite some time explaining at the E3 2013 press briefing that the Playstation 4 won't require "always online," will support used games, and will launch for $399, after showing the actual console.

Vying to match Microsoft's online offering, Sony will be requiring a Playstation Plus membership for multiplayer besides the usual features of things like discounts and free games. Drive Club PSPlus Edition will be available on day on for Playstation Plus members at day one. Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack and Driveclub are all planned to be launch titles.

Square announced both Final Fantasy XV ( formerly Final Fantasy Verses XIII) and Kingdom Hearts III.

Bethesda software said that Elder Scrolls Online will come to Sony's next-gen console and will have a beta before release.

Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios will team with Warner Brothers for a video game adaptation of Mad Max.

Sony stressed (in another knack against Microsoft) that the Playstation 4 will be indie friendly, meaning self publishing is possible. Klei Entertainment's PC hit Don't Starve, Red Barrels' Outlast and Oddworld Inhabitants' remake of the original Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee entitled Oddworld New and Tasty is coming to Sony's next-gen console among others.

Ready at Dawn introduced a new IP in The Order: 1886.

Closing the show was a live demonstration of Bungie's Activision published Destiny. Destiny looks to be first-person-shooter action with MMORPG stylings.

Outside of gaming, Sony Pictures Entertainment will be creating exclusive content for Playstation 4 and Redbox Instant is coming to the console.

The electronics giant didn't forget its current gen Playstation 3 and Vita portable.

Playstation Vita will see the HD releases of God of War 1, God of War 2, Final Fantasy 10, Final Fantasy 10 - 2, Flower, Dead Nation andThe Walking Dead: Season One along with the upcoming episode "400 Days."

New trailers for Gran Turismo 6, Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls and Rain were shown before announcing a new Playstation 3 bundle including Grand Theft Auto V that'll retail for $299. Batman Arkham City will see exclusive DLC on the Playstation 3 edition.

Sony plans on making a nice majority of games announced playable on the show floor and GameNGuide will be there for hands on previews.
