David Leitch who directed the movie "John Wick" has confirmed that he will be directing the upcoming movie "Deadpool 2." The first movie which grossed $783 million US dollars worldwide was directed by Tim Miller who had announced last month that he will no longer be joining the project.
Director Tim Miller dropped out of "Deadpool 2" due to creative differences with lead star Ryan Reynolds. He has not yet signed any formalities for the sequel but was already developing a script when he quit the movie, according to a report by Variety.
The director exited "Deadpool 2" because he and Ryan Reynolds cannot agree on who should play as Cable. Miller also wanted a bigger production for the sequel but the actor and some of the screenwriters believe that they should stick to what made the original movie successful. Despite butting heads with Ryan Reynolds, the split was reported to be amicable.
Luckily, Fox was able to find an immediate replacement for Tim Miller in the form of David Leitch. The new "Deadpool 2" director also directed the movie "The Coldest City" which stars Charlize Theron.
Furthermore, fans awaiting the showing of "Deadpool 2" will be glad to know that Fox is already looking for someone to make "Deadpool 3." There are several names that have been leaked out as a candidate to direct the third installment.
Comicbook reported that Rupert Sanders who made "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Ghost in a Shell" is among the names listed. "Luke Cage" director Magnus Martens and Drew Goddard of "The Martian" are also shortlisted as a possible director for "Deadpool 3." Meanwhile, fans will have to wait for the release date announcement of "Deadpool 2."
