Reports say the One Direction Member and "Love You Like a Love Song" singer hugged her ex-beau after Niall performed his single "This Town."
The former "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress congratulated her ex-beau, calling his performance incredible before going back to her dressing room. Though they never publicly admitted to their romance, Niall Horan and Selena Gomez reportedly hooked up December of last year after the finale of "The X-Factor", where sources say they were seen kissing.
Inquisitr reports that it was Selena Gomez who ended the short romance, as she did not want to take things further, much to Niall's disappointment. But it seems that the couple are still friends, as Niall Horan also congratulated Selena on her emotional speech when she won the award for Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist.
The appearance of Selena Gomez in the American Music Awards marks the first time she has been seen in public after she announced that she was taking a break from her career to deal with health and personal issues. Last year, the rumored ladylove of Selena Gomez revealed that she was suffering from lupus.
In August of this year, she announced her break and soon after, news broke out that Selena Gomez entered into a rehab facility outside of Nashville. In her speech after winning her first American Music Award, the rumored girlfriend of Niall Horan thanked her fans who have supported her throughout her battles. The honest and heartwarming speech was well-received by the audience of music artists, which include Lady Gaga.
"But if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken. And if that's anything, whether you respect me or not, that's one thing you should know about me is, I care about people. And thank you so much for this, this is for you," Selena said as she needed her speech. Up until now, neither Selena Gomez nor Niall Horan has confirmed that they are indeed an item.
