With the massive success of "The Witcher" franchise in the books, Projekt CD Red is riding high as one of the most beloved and acclaimed game companies in the world. Deviating from their specialty in the fantasy genre, the Polish-based game house is attempting to weave their magic in science fiction with the development of "Cyberpunk 2077." So far, it has been looking great.
Fans have been hyping the "Cyberpunk 2077" up. Although the development has been kept under wraps, the rare reception of the game has been nothing short of stellar.
According to Game Zone, "Cyberpunk 2077" executive producer John Mamais spoke out and gave his firsthand impressions of the game. Mamais, who also acted as executive producer to the astoundingly successful "The Witcher 3," spoke during the pre-show segment of the Golden Joystick Awards ceremony.
Mamais went on to praise the game in its development and did not hold anything back exclaiming that "Cyberpunk 2077" is going to be "really, really, really f***ing badass." When asked for more details about the game's development, Mamais chose not to comment, keeping the mystique and mysterious allure of the next Projekt CD Red game intact.
This has been a trend as Projekt CD Red has made a conscious effort to keep their silence about the game. Besides this recent development, "Cyberpunk 2077" has been toted to be much more ambitious than "The Witcher 3," in size, scope, and everything in between.
As far as the actual Golden Joystick Awards event went, it was a great night for Projekt CD Red. As reported by Game Rant, "The Witcher 3" expansion pack "Blood and Wine" took home the awards for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design. Most notably, Projekt CD Red won of the most prestigious awards of the show when they awarded Studio of the Year. These recognitions can only make fans even more confident that "Cyberpunk 2077" will be as glorious as it is expected to be.
There is no apparent release date yet for "Cyberpunk 2077." It is expected that the official release date will be announced sometime in 2017.
