As most perhaps know by now, the big crossover “Invasion” will see the heroes from “Arrow”, “Flash”,
“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” and “Supergirl” band together against aliens bent on eradicating the earth. In short, all hands are needed on deck.
As far as “Arrow” is concerned, Olive Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Becket Rickards) need all the help they can get. John Diggle (David Ramsey)is back but it may need more help seeing the young new group may not be enough.
Aside from “Flash” (Grant Gustin), “Supergirl” (Melissa Benoist) and the “Legends of Tomorrow” crew, old faces like “Speedy” could be a big help. So it may not be surprising if Willa Holland dons that red leather suit once again at least for this special, Screen Rant reported.
However, she also assures that it will not be the last “Arrow” fans will see her back as Ollie’s sidekick. She will be making periodical appearances from thereon, likely on an as needed basis, Comic Book reported.
Looking for the new team, the only reliable addition seems to be “Ragman” (Joe Dinicol) for now. “Wild Dog” (Rick Gonzalez) seems to be too much to handle while “Mister Terrific” (Echo Kellum) has been hardly of help physically. “Artemis” (Madison McLaughlin) loyalty is questionable as seen in the closing scene of the episode “Vigilante”.
Given those odds, “Speedy” may be a need especially against “Prometheus” – the main villain for “Arrow” season 5. While she is obviously holding the fire to fight crime, Ollie will need her at some point to fend off the shaping threat once the “Invasion” crossover is settled.
For now, it is wait-and-see on when and where “Speedy” will help out. The good news is tested help is available for team Arrow and something that can hopefully spare Ollie much of the conflicts running around the new and young core.
