A modder recently brought back a water gun in "The Last of Us." The weapon used to be available in the fun chapter of "The Last of Us: Left Behind" DLC.
Kotaku revealed that previously, "The Last of Us: Left Behind" featured a water gun fight in its DLC, where protagonist Ellie and her friend Riley, were having fun instead of trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. The concept became the topic among "The Last of Us" fans, who asked whether it was possible to wield a water gun while fighting actual zombies.
YouTuber Freako provided the answer by showcasing a water gun in the inventory. Freako explained in "The Last of Us" video how he used the "flagging" method to introduce the water gun in the actual game.
The modder shared that he was in the water fight section of "The Last of Us" where he saved the game. He took the water gun from the inventory of the save and introduced it into the current file.
Freako provided the water gun in game sections where Ellie was only supposed to use a knife. "The Last of Us" clip also showed the weapon inventory where Ellie was supposed to pull out a shiv but revealed a Super Soaker instead.
"The Last of Us" character fired on the zombies with the seemingly harmless accessory, which in effect, caused the undead to fall down. The mod showcased a unique type of white water effect from the gun, as well as strange animations. Players should not expect much in terms of graphic detail.
GameRant wrote that it is unclear what causes the water gun in "The Last of Us" to actually damage the zombies with a few sprays. It was a great mod for "The Last of Us" players who have been wondering about the possibility in the past three years.
Since its release, "The Last of Us" is still a favorite among many players. Naughty Dog is reportedly working on "The Last of Us 2," although the plot and launch date have yet to be announced. More updates and details on "The Last of Us" are expected soon.
