Fans of "Game of Thrones" and George RR Martin have been waiting for the next installment of "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. Though there are no official announcements, many believe the release date of "The Winds of Winter" will come before the premiere of "Game of Thrones" season 7.
Reports say that "Game of Thrones" season 7 will be delayed as filming can't be done because they need to wait for Martin to release "The Winds of Winter." But, the author is seemingly taking his sweet time to finish the sixth installment to "A Song of Ice and Fire." The author has already stated that he is not very fond of deadlines, and does not respond to them well.
Add to that are the rumors that HBO and Martin are talking of also producing a prequel for "Game of Thrones" and fans are even more afraid that of delays in both the release of the book "The Winds of Winter" and "GOT" season 7.
But, spoilers say that "The Winds of Winter" will be released by Spring of 2017, just enough time for readers to know the latest events in "A Song of Ice and Fire" before the probable return of "Game of Thrones" by Summer of 2017. Fans hope that George RR Martin would not take too long to finish "The Winds of Winter."
After all, it took him nearly five years to finish the latest published book in "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. Meanwhile, fans can content themselves with speculations and theories regarding "The Winds of Winter" and "GOT" Season 7.
A reported theory for "The Winds of Winter" states that the White Walkers are not really evil, instead the threat is just perceived by the people. The White Walker were apparently created to prevent the joining of Ice (Starks) and Fire (Targaryen), for if the two bloodlines meet, they would be too powerful.
These theories will be answered with the release of "The Winds of Winter." Fans are just hoping that they would not have to wait too long for that.
