"Jane The Virgin" Season 3 Episode 5 starts off with how Alba (Ivonne Coll) and Jane were close since Jane was a young kid. Alba trusts Jane all the time.
So when Jane asks Alba to give the letters of her sister, who she didn't keep in touch for 42 years, her grandma allows her because she truly trusts Jane. However, as she's trying to connect with her relatives, unexpectedly, Alba's sister calls. After that, Alba gets mad at Jane.
Alba keeps her grudge to her sister because her sister ruined her wedding. She reveals it to Jane later on.
Meanwhile, Jane concluded that Petra (whom they are talking to) is not the real one. In order to find the truth, Rafael (Justin Baldoni) set a surveillance camera that has been hidden in the bear in Petra's room.
To make the story short, Rafel was convinced that Petra is not the real one with the help of surveillance camera. However, during the encounter with fake Petra and the paralyzed real Petra, the real Petra did not reveal herself. So, since the real Petra gets her senses back, she commands her sister to break up with her boyfriend.
Meanwhile, on the man date between Rafael and Michael (Brett Dier), the two men go to the gym. Michael feels insecure of Rafael's buff body, thus, triggers him to make stories or judge Rafael.
Although there are misunderstandings between Michael and Rafel, they soon fix the issue. Meanwhile, Aneska, Petra's impostor, has no courage to break up with her current boyfriend Scott. So Petra was the one who broke up with him.
The episode ends with Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) announcing she wants to have her own dance school. Expect a song and dance number before the episode ends.
Alba and Jane have fixed their issues; Jane's coursin Catalina suddenly appears, and Aneska get "Not Petra" tattoo.
