Everyone loves superheroes. Even more people love League of Legends. A game combining the two of them should have "huge hit" written all over it.
Major League Gaming seems to think so, as the competitive gaming league has added Infinite Crisis to their lineup, according to an official MLG press release. The still-in-beta MOBA game will have the same core structure of titles such as Dota 2 and League of Legends, except DC's fiercest heroes will be the ones waging war for lanes and bases.
If you haven't gotten in on the closed beta for Infinite Crisis, MLG will be streaming the title from their booth during all of E3. Infinite Crisis will presumably take the big stages of MLG's upcoming tournaments, which also typically feature League, Starcraft, and Call of Duty.
"Infinite Crisis and our new partners at Turbine are a perfect addition to the MLG network. The game is action-packed, fun to play and well-suited for a competitive audience," said MLG CEO Sundance DiGiovanni in the release.
Inspired by a comic storyline of the same name, Infinite Crisis will allow players to wield zany alternate versions of their favorite heroes, such as "Gaslight Catwoman" and "Nightmare Batman." Infinite Crisis' official website shows off several other parallel versions of popular DC heroes, such as a zombified Green Lantern and a robot version of Wonder Woman. While screenshots are still scarce, the title promises that gamers will be able to compete in well-known DC Comics locations. The game still has no official release date, but hopefully E3 will shed some light on when the free-to-play MOBA will be on PCs everywhere.
MLG's next major event is their Spring Championship, which will bring professional gamers from all over the world together from June 28 to June 30 in Anaheim, CA. Between Infinite Crisis joining MLG and Injustice: Gods Among Us being picked up by the world famous EVO fighting game championship, it's never been a better time to duke it out digitally as your favorite DC characters. Are you looking forward to seeing Infinite Crisis in action on one of gaming's biggest competitive arenas?
