Attack on Titan / Shingeki no Kyokin continues to stir the imagination of its readers after dropping tons of revelations in its latest chapter. The last two chapters of Hajime Isayama's post-apocalyptic manga series has been an eye-opener, especially about the history of the world and the origins of the titans.
And if the amount of truth bombs in the past few months serves as indication, then chapter 88 is expected to shock more readers. It's going to be roller-coaster ride of emotion between now until the end of the series.
Here are the things to look forward to in Chapter 88:
-Grisha's master plan. After experiencing all kinds of tortures at the hands of Marleys, Grisha is about to begin his counter-attack. Acquiring the ability to become a titan is the first step to make his plan a reality.
Inside the walled city, he will try to blend in with the society in an attempt to find the current bearer of the power of the progenitor titan. It's going to be chess game from there on, as he tries to avoid suspicion from the military politce, and at the time, pushes towards humanity's first real victory.
-Who really is Kruger? That is the million dollar question that stuck in the minds of readers at the end of chapter 87. We all know he's the night owl, the shadow founder of the Eldian's Revivalist. But his motive to bring down the Marley Empire remains a question mark. One thing is for sure, he has the blood of an Eldian as manifested by his ability to use his titan power.
-Solving the Reiss-Fritz Conundrum and the Great East Sea Clan. Chapter 86 mentioned about Ymir Frietz being the progenitor titan. From her bloodline rose the mighty Eldian Empire which has been ruled by the Frietz family for over 2000 years. The question here is how the Reiss Family rose to power, given that only the Frietz is considered as royalty?
Finally, Chapter 88 could finally give readers light to the Great East Clan, the Marley's enemies from the East. What are their roles in this ongoing skirmish between the Marley and the Eldian. Is this the Clan where Mikasa, an oriental, come from?
