Konami put out the first teaser trailer of its much-awaited Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 confirming that the game will be built with the FOX Engine, the same engine used in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
The title will offer photo-realistic graphics, overhauled physics model and control mechanics of the new Fox engine. The black and while teaser trailer shows a couple of football moves including legs dribbling and slide tackling. The forthcoming PES instalment will also feature the Asian Football Confederation Champions League for the first time as a result of a deal between publisher Konami and the federation.
This is the first title to be co-developed by PES Productions' new London studio which was opened by Konami last year. PES 2014 is expected to be revealed during the Konami's pre-E3 press conference scheduled for next Thursday, June 6 and the game is coming to next-gen consoles.
Konami had earlier stated that PES 14 will explore giant-killing possibilities in which smaller teams will be able to topple the giants in the world of football. The publisher believes this feature will place PES 14 in direct competition with EA Sports' FIFA 14. "Our ultimate goal is to let you win with the team you love," PES creative producer Kei Masuda told OPM. "If we can make a giant-killing possible, it's a huge difference to FIFA."
