Serayah McNeill and Bryshere "Yazz" Gray will be appearing on the December/January 2017 cover of Seventeen magazine, which will be available on Nov. 22, 2016. The two "Empire" stars talked about their relationship off-camera as well as other aspects of their lives.
Serayah McNeill, Bryshere Y. Gray Dating?
Just Jared reveals that Serayah McNeill, 21, and Yazz, 23, are a couple in "Empire," but are not in real life. Serayah plays Tiana Brown, while Yazz plays Hakeem Lyon. Bryshere said that his co-star is a very attractive and cool girl, but they are only very close friends.
In the current season of "Empire," the Tiana and Hakeem broke up after she discovered that he was cheating on her. Serayah McNeill shared that her favorite character on the show is not actually Hakeem, but Andre Lyon (Trai Byers). The actress added that she is excited to see who Tiana will be dating next, writes The Guardian. In the meantime, her character has been very busy pursuing her career, music and what she wants to come to life with it, which Serayah admires.
Serayah McNeill Talks About Her Role & Insecurities
In Seventeen magazine, Serayah McNeill talked about the importance of having role models and working as hard as possible. She said that people can dream and meditate on something but should also put in the work. The actress said that her idols are Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Beyonce because of their work ethic. She appreciates how they became the best in their field because they are the first and last to work.
Serayah McNeill also talked about getting over her insecurity. The actress mentioned that she used to hate her hair because it felt poufy and curly. She initially did everything to deny her natural traits, and then got her role in "Empire," which allowed her to wear her hair in its natural form. She realized that her hair was actually an asset and that she did not need to change to please others.
Serayah McNeill has recently been promoted to a main character in the current season of "Empire." She teased that people will be seeing more of Tiana, aside from the dancing and singing. Viewers will get to see a different side of her character soon.
