It is expected that with the new update 1.8, users can do anything they want with either the "Fallout 4" or Skyrim Special Edition. However, Sony did not approve user mods the way it was expected to work.
Sony has left "Fallout 4" update 1.8 with one major limitation wherein Mods on the PS4 will be restricted to 1GB in file size 900MB imposed in an early beta but lower than the full 2GB that mod makers can use on the Xbox One. Ars Technica noted that Mods has been enjoyed by Xbox One owners since May shortly after the PC version of the game's Official mod support has been released.
However, "Fallout 4" PS4 Mods support can only be experienced live by updating previous version of PlayStation 4 to version 1.8. Hofmag added that update 1.8 comes with multiple fixes and general game improvements. Update contains improvements in game performance, sound effects issues have already been fixed, another fixed issue regarding game to crash after exit and starting menu.

More about version 1.8 is no more crushing with the game regarding its data structure, Library and Favorite Mod categories, Missing some Mods images when scrolling, and Audio cut outs resulting from the dual-firing of a Sentry Bot's Gatling Lasers were all addressed.
