The Last of Us is all set to enter the gaming world in a few weeks' time and now the developer has announced that the title will be supplemented by three Downloadable Content (DLC) packs post-launch. The three DLC packs in question will include one single-player expansion and two multiplayer packs.
"The Last of Us is a universe rich in character and story with many facets that we could potentially explore for years. We're getting started by announcing that there will be three packs of downloadable content for The Last of Us available after the game launches," Naughty Dog's community strategist Eric Monacelli writes on the PlayStation Blog.
According to the announcement, Naughty Dog will offer a $20 season pass which offers a series of Day 1 bonuses including increased crafting and healing speed, 9mm reload speed upgrade, rifle clip capacity upgrade and an exclusive 90min Making of The Last of Us documentary.
"The two other DLC packs will feature multiplayer content in the form of additional multiplayer maps and other expansions. You'll be hearing about our multiplayer over the next couple of days," the company promises.
The game is now available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store and The Last of Us will be the first PS3 title to be playable during downloading.
The PlayStation 3 exclusive will release on June 14 and gamers will be able to buy the Season Pass from retail stores as well. It's expected that the developer will elaborate on the multiplayer mode at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (June 11-13) that falls right at the arrival of the game.
