Eddie Redmayne, the star of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", addresses rumors that he and Taylor Swift dated. Redmayne revealed during his interview with Andy Cohen on the "Watch What Happens Live" that there were no romantic feelings going on with him and the "Shake it Off" singer.
"I absolutely can put the rumors to rest, I never went out on a date with Taylor Swift," Redmayne said when a fan asked about him and Swift. "She was amazing in the audition. We got to sing together which was a big moment for me but no, we never went out," the Oscar winner continued.
The dating rumors sparked when both Eddie Redmayne and Taylor Swift auditioned for the 2012 film "Les Meserables" that starred Anne Hathaway. Taylor Swift auditioned for the role of Eponine and was up against Lea Michelle, Evan Rachel Wood and Scarlett Johansson but all of them lost the part that was given to Samantha Banks.
When the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" actor got a chance to sing with the "Bad Blood" singer during the audition, he told the audience that their connection was purely professional. Eddie Redmayne nabbed the role of Marius Pontmercy who was the love interest of the role Taylor Swift was auditioning for in the film according to People.
The 34-year old actor is married to Hannah Bagshaw and has a daughter with her named Iris. Redmayne is currently promoting the spin-off film of the Harry Potter franchise, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", that is now shown in the theaters.
Taylor Swift in the other hand has been rumored to dating the rapper Drake. Although she is on a break in making music, Taylor Swift wrote a song for the country band, Little Big Town entitled "Better Man".
