"The Last of Us" movie fans will have to wait for longer than expected. In an interview, the movie project producer gave a not so positive answer about doing a movie adaptation of the said game. Fans will surely be devastated if the promised project won't be pursued.

An IGN reporter attended the home video release of "Don't Breathe". In the press lunch, he had a chance to ask Sam Raini, the producer, about the current status of "The Last of Us" movie. He was politely answered by the genius creator, but gave a non-committal answer.
The brilliant producer said that they have tried to get the rights of the game like what they do in any other projects but he said that he would want to control the rights. Neil Druckman, the screenwriter and producer of the game, has a different plan for it. He added that Sony has also a different plan for "The Last of Us" movie.

Fans assumed that the "The Last of Us" movie project has completely stalled because of factors that were already out of the movie producer's hands. He transparently explained that since his company doesn't have the rights for the project, he can't exert much of an effort to push the movie through.
He also added that even he is one the "The Last of Us" movie producers, he is not the one who's going to decide on what to do or not, it's Neil and Sony's. The movie producer is more than willing to help them if they have finally move forward in creating the promised project, cited by Slash Film.
Sam Raini was also asked if he is still into making the "The Last of Us" movie. He frankly said that he is still attached to do the film. He, however, is not in the position to spill any details about the most waited movie.
