There were rumors of cancellation of "Teen Mom 2" Season 8 earlier this month. MTV has not announced the cancellation yet and the fans of the series are very disappointed by the rumors. But cast members of the series recently posted videos and pictures of reunion for one-hundredth episode which will be the part of Season 8.
Earlier, the gossip mills were abuzz that the Season 8 of "Teen Mom 2" would be canceled as the series' content is too much for TV and allegedly the series was considered to be a bad influence on the teens. Teen pregnancy is a burning issue in today's society but it was assumed that "Teen Mom 2" was showing too much and glorifying teen pregnancy.
However, a survey conducted by National Bureau of Economic Research showed that after "Teen Mom 2" release in 2009 there is a reduction in the birth rate among teens in the US, as reported by The Wrap. So the reason stated behind the rumored cancellation of the series is not logical. Moreover, "Teen Mom 2" is one of the highest rated shows on MTV as per Wet Paint.
Jenelle Evans was reportedly the most active during the reunion and posted pictures and videos of the celebration, reported Christian Today. Leah also took to Instagram and posted pictures of the girls getting their hair and make-up done for the reunion. Although, the details of the hundredth episode are under wrap, speculations are made that it would center on the reunion. The images of the reunion are the proof that Season 8 will not be canceled.
Nevertheless, MTV has not made any official announcement about the premiere date of "Teen Mom 2" Season 8. But conjectures are made based on the facts that the series always premiere early part of the year so Season 8 could be premiered between January to March next year.
