"Super Mario" will finally be making an appearance on the mobile platform. "Super Mario Run" will be banking on the "Pokemon Go" phenomenon and decided to follow its footsteps towards smartphone gaming. The release date for the "Super Mario Run" is already set on December 15 but the "Super Mario Run" price on iOS might make players think twice.
Majority of the revenue for the latest "Pokemon Go" benefited Niantic, the license owners. But, with "Super Mario Run," it will most likely cost the players, specifically $10 in the US market and £8 in the UK market. Nintendo and Apple definitely want to make big bucks out of this partnership.
Non-paying fans will still be able to enjoy the "Super Mario Run" though, since there will still be some elements that will be available for free. After staying too long with the usual gaming consoles, this move to join the smart-phone gaming market will truly be a welcome sight for fans and the creators alike.
Nintendo is already reaping the benefits from "Super Mario Run" after their shares jumped from 5percent after 24 hours of their announcement. Their shares leveled at a good 2.77 percent yesterday, during the closing of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Tim Cook, the big boss at Apple already visited Nintendo in Japan and has confirmed that there are already 20 million users who want to be notified when the game is out. Tatsumi Kimishima also mentioned in an interview with Bloomberg that their team is making sure that the "Super Mario Run" release will indeed create a hype.
