Bandai Namco revealed that there will be a cross-play battle between "One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" and "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden." Both games are on Nintendo 3DS platform so the arrangement is possible.
The "One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" and "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" cross-play will be released via patch for the former. "Great Pirate Colosseum" hit the market just last Sept. 21 in Japan and this will be its first update.
The "One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" and "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" cross-game battle was announced by Bandai Namco on its Japanese website and it is now live. The game includes both online and offline multiplayer game battle modes.
The set-up allows players of "One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" and "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" to fight one another. They can choose different characters from both games like Goku and Luffy, then engaged in competitive matches.
Initially, the "One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" and "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" cross-play update is only available in Japan, thus it can only be bought via Nintendo online store there. Bandai Namco has yet to confirm whether it will also release the patch outside of the region.
"One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" and "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" crossover is expected to be a hit since both games have their own huge following worldwide. The best part is that the patch is free for all players.
Finally, for the "One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" and "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" cross-play update, players will get to choose from among 20 playable and 80 support characters for the matches in the "One Piece" franchise while "Dragon Ball Z" players will have access to more than 100 characters across all the Dragon Ball game adaptations.
