Adult Swim's "Rick and Morty" Season 3 has yet to announce its official release date, despite having finished its episodes earlier this year. Fans would recall that showrunners Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon had earlier promised a December release date, but with the year swiftly rolling by without any sort of official update, will it make it by December?
What we know so far
It's been previously reported that "Rick and Morty" Season 3 had finished writing and animation a few weeks ago, and were merely waiting for the green light from their Canadian studio, according to writer Erica Rosbe in a Chicks Who Write podcast. Executive producer Dan Guterman had even tweeted earlier that the first episode was done, going so far to say Erica Rosbe "couldn't shut up about it."
Regardless of this progress, Adult Swim and the cast and crew of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 have yet to confirm a December 2016 release date for the much-awaited series. Several reports are now speculating that "Rick and Morty" Season 3 likely won't make it before the year ends. This was seemingly confirmed when Dan Harmon, cowriter and producer to the series, merely said they were "working as fast as they can" to finish up.
What to expect from 'Rick and Morty' Season 3
Regardless of when "Rick and Morty" Season 3 would air, fans can rest assured of a great season ahead for Rick Sanchez and his ragtag family. The new season will see the mad scientist breaking out of the Galactic Federation Prison. Krombopoulos Michael is expected to appear in "Rick and Morty" Season 3, as part of the militant underground guard who may or may not bust Rick Sanchez out.
