Nearly all hit animated films of Pixar has gotten a sequel. There is "Finding Dory", "Cars 2", "Monster's University", and even a rumored "Toy Story 4". One of the films that seem to be left in the cold is the 2004 hit, "The Incredibles." But recent rumors have begun to surface that a sequel is now in the works and fans may not have to wait very long for "The Incredibles 2."
According to ENews, "The Incredibles 2" is being planned for a June 15, 2018 release. It would also bump the planned "Toy Story 4" to a 2019 release date. Brad Bird, who directed and wrote the first film, is said to be back to take the directing duties for the sequel.
The whole family will return for "The Incredibles 2" albeit they are going to be older. Dash, the speedy male kid of the brood will have to be voiced by another actor as it is rumored that he will be a lot older in the new film. Another character that is reported to make a comeback is Frozone. Samuel L. Jackson, who lends his voice for the character has said during an interview the following: "Every time I run into Brad [Bird] he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on, so I have to believe that."
"The Incredibles 2" have been rumored to feature the baby of the first film Jack-Jack as the villain. Brad Bird has said in an interview regarding the movie that the second film will start focusing on the family instead of the superpowers.
Could this mean that "The Incredibles 2" will have some sort of family vs. family fight where members will fight take sides? Or Disney could even go the route of having parents vs. the kid's showdown. Whatever happens, "The Incredibles 2" is finally happening and that is something to truly get excited about.
